  • Gewaef isn’t just a table - it’s a composition. It sits low, and it carries material contrast without shouting. Made for spaces that slow you down and invite you to look closer.
A table with shadow in it.
Oak split and sealed. Weight in one hand, silence in the other.
The beam slices came from a barn near Margate, rough and unpredictable. Stabilised in black resin, shaped to sit in tension with the clean oak top. The grain flows on one side; the other side fragments and reframes it. Together, they hold contrast: smooth and raw, ordered and salvaged.

Gewaef Rubix Oak Coffee Table

Gewaef is a table made of weight and time.
Oak, joined across layers, clean-cut above, storied below.
Two sides, one idea.

from £2850

Context & Craft

This is a fusion of old and new. Barn beam ends cut into squares, set in black resin, bonded around a hidden ply core. Each one was chosen by grain. Top matched in colour, not contrast.
Gewaef is made from solid European oak, featuring a 1600×800mm tabletop, made from 3–5 oak boards, straight edge, finished in hardwax oil Osmo Terra (semi-matt). Table is paired with an asymmetrical base. One leg mirrors the top in matching oak; the other is a hollow box, clad in slices of salvaged barn beams - shaped, stabilised with epoxy, and bonded with black resin. The visual contrast is intentional, but the table remains balanced and grounded. Each piece is shaped and finished by hand.
Base size: 800×470mm footprint × 420mm high.
Total table height: ~462mm.
